Blue, Kids, Pink, Red, Sketches in Thyme
Hello, and welcome if you have joined me on this blog hop from Eli at Scrap-Colors. We are celebrating the re-launch of Sketches in Thyme, and as part of the Creative Team, we are sharing our layouts with you based on the first sketch challenge by Bev Code. Here is the sketch, along with my layout based on the sketch:
I kept the photo layout, title placement, and vertical and horizontal elements to the background papers. I used the Teresa Collins – Something Wonderful Collection as well as a few pieces from my stash. I did bring the journaling closer to the photos, and used circular embellishments in place of flowers & hearts.
Because I am in the picture with my nephew, I didn’t want the layout to be too biased towards masculine or feminine touches, so tried to strike a balance between the two by using pink, red, and blue, circles and stripes, and sequins and brads.
I do find at the moment my biggest challenge is coming up with great titles for my layouts – If any one knows any resources please leave me a comment so I can get some inspiration! However, on this page, the smiling and laughing in the photos made for an obvious choice.
Now for the exciting part – what you can win! To be eligible for our September Prize Pack, you will need to follow the Sketches in Thyme blog, and play along with both of our September challenges (the next sketch will be released on the 15th September). Check out this huge haul:
Next stop on this blog hop is over to the talented Karen at Sit, Scrap, and Relax! I hop you will take the time to check out all the design teams creations, and submit your own layouts based on our sketch to be in to win the fabulous prize above. I know you are just going to love all the sketches we have coming up! Here’s a last look at my contribution.

Love that fresh colour scheme and the photos made me smile 🙂 I have trouble with titles too – actually I think coming up with titles is the hardest part of scrapping! I recently turned to Pinterest to find something and found this: http://www.pinterest.com/samtaylor44/scrapbook-titles-journaling-ideas-and-quotes/
Good luck 🙂
