Hello, and welcome if you have joined me on this blog hop from Eli at Scrap-Colors. We are celebrating the re-launch of Sketches in Thyme, and as part of the Creative Team, we are sharing our layouts with you based on the first sketch challenge by Bev Code. Here is the sketch, along with my layout based on the sketch:

Sketches in Thyme Sept 1st SketchHappy

I kept the photo layout, title placement, and vertical and horizontal elements to the background papers. I used the Teresa Collins – Something Wonderful Collection as well as a few pieces from my stash. I did bring the journaling closer to the photos, and used circular embellishments in place of flowers & hearts.

Because I am in the picture with my nephew, I didn’t want the layout to be too biased towards masculine or feminine touches, so tried to strike a balance between the two by using pink, red, and blue, circles and stripes, and sequins and brads.

I do find at the moment my biggest challenge is coming up with great titles for my layouts – If any one knows any resources please leave me a comment so I can get some inspiration! However, on this page, the smiling and laughing in the photos made for an obvious choice.
